Collection: Prabin Badhia

Prabin Badhia has made Emeryville, California, his home since 1999.  He immigrated to the US from India in 1993 after finishing his Bachelor in Fine Art and Master in History of Art in 1992.  His artistic focus is the human body, painting not just each line, curve, and bend in his own style, but bringing to life the emotion inside of the body.

Badhia has been a frequent exhibitor at 4th Street Fine Art in Berkeley, California, since 2006 and his art has made regular appearances at other Bay Area art galleries and collectives.  He participates at art symposiums around the world including most recently in Tunisia, Turkey, France, and Italy.

To me, art is a reason to live rather than a means to survive. I allow myself to be exposed to all human sentiments and knit them with my skills and practice.  I believe in chronological evolution of style and technique in art.  Based on this thought I position myself for my art practice.  I also allow spontaneity so that my art conveys an intensity when taste, temperament and technique coincide at the time of creation.
